Multiculturalism

Multiculturalism is becoming a big issue nowadays.

Today, I organized the pros and cons of multiculturalism, and I hope this post can be helpful doing your debate.

 

First, our country can develop because foriegners can fill out the insufficient part of Korea.  For instance, Korea is planning to use african-americans to Worldcup athlete after changing their citizenship. African-American can be helpful to Korea's soccer match because they are good at running. However, the opponents of multiculturalism will say that our country can't develop more because there will be misconfutions between Korean and foriegners. Nevertheless, this can be fixed if we throw away the stereotypes.

 

 

Second, multricultrism can give a good reputation of Korea. For instance, suppose that a woman who came from Vietnam married with a Korean man. Then, they had a baby and when that baby became an adult, he went to Vietnam because it's his mother's country . He told everyone that Korea is a very good country, and may Vietnams believed in this. Like this way, Korea can have a good image from other countries. However, the opponents of multiculturism will say that Korea can have a bad reputation because people who are foriegners can also have a bad reputation. However, this can be stopped  if we treat foriegners equally.

Early adopters

 

Early adopters are a group of people who buys new products earlier than others. Since they buy every new versions again and again, they also spend lots of money than others. Then, why are early adopters so pressured to buy newest products? I think there are two following answers for this question.

Firstly, they feel happy when they think, “I’m the first person to buy this product!” They will probably like the feeling of tension while competing to buy the first product. For example, suppose that you are an early adopter. Your friend is also an early adopter, and even if you don’t say to your friend “I am your competitor”, you will naturally feel tension to buy something earlier than your friend. Due to the fact that you can have something faster, you can probably like the tension when you compete, and that’s how you become an early adopter. Even though early adopter seems bad because they are always wasting money and time, there are suitable reasons for them to buy technological things earlier than us.

 Secondly, if everybody starts to get a new product, you can also think “I should buy one!” This situation is becoming more and more common these days since the new technological cellphone comes out so much. For example, suppose that you bought Galaxy-S-1 on March. You thought that Galaxy S 1 will be the best phone ever for maybe 2years. However, suddenly after March, everyone was having Galaxy S 2 and you were the only one who were having Galaxy S 1. You just endured, but after one month, everyone was having I-phone. Naturally, you will feel pressure to change your cellphone and this will become a start to become an early adopter. Everyone could be an early adopter due to fast technology development. Therefore, I think there is nothing to say bad or good about early adopters because it is natural to become early adopter if you live in a technology-developed city such as Seoul.

 

To sum up, these are two reasons why early adopters are feeling pressure to buy newest things. Like we understand other people’s personality and characteristic, we should not only think early adopters are bad. We should understand them as a friend who has special hobby and interest on technological things.

Humans could Extinct!!!

Many scientists and ancient people predicted that this year, 2012 will be a year of human’s extinction. Due to this prediction, many people were scared that they will die just like other animals did. Although I do want to believe this happening, I think it can happen someday because of this two reasons.

    

 Firstly, natural disasters can make us all die. Natural disaster’s power are very devastating. For example, if the earthquake happens, all the buildings people built will fall down and many people will die because of this. If a tsunami and volcano happens at the same time, people will melt or drown. In addition, the most dangerous part of natural disasters are that we can not stop, or ever predict when the natural disaster will come. Therefore, we can not ever prepare or run away from the natural disaster and the only way is to survive. If this natural disaster happen in the whole world, I am sure that human can extinct.

    

Secondly, people can die of environmental pollution. Environmental pollutions are things that people made it happen. For example, people throw away garbages anywhere and in factories, they throw away polluted water in clear water. If people keep doing the same thing, someday, people can all extinct by things we made it happen. If pollution happens seriously, firstly, plants will all die. Then, animals who eat plants will die and animals who eat these plant-eating animals will die. Finally, humans will die because there is nothing to eat without animals or plants. Therefore, I think humans have to work hard to not make pollutions anymore such as riding a bicycle instead of riding car.

     To sum up, I think these two things can be a reason to make humans extinct. To prevent humans from extinction, I think there is only one way, to make the earth not angry.

Solving problems of Internet

 

Due to the invention of internet, our life became more comfortable. We could find information faster than before and also can work on internet. However, internet can sometimes be very addictive, disturbing and hurtful. Even though cyber polices are working on to find people who are doing bad things on internet, the problems of internet is never perfectly solved. Although the problem can never be cured, we can make these problems more better by these two ways.

   

Firstly, I think we should not use our nick-name in online chatting. Due to nick-

name using in online chat room, people sometimes do mean things to hurt others and even deceive their age and gender. This can be a cause to make a crime, give mentally hurtful damage to others, and even make others commit suicide. If we do not use nickname in online chat room, there is many advantages. For instance, internet bullying will disappear because they know each other. In addition, people will know that if you commit crime in chat room, you can have a harsh punishment. Therefore, they will have a higher credit in the internet culture. Furthermore, it will be more easier to manage customers because they are having a program that have real people.

 

Secondly, I think we should limit all the game production. If we prohibit all the gam

es coming out, there will be no people who are addictive to game. Then, we should make a school for people to get out of game addiction. Then, the society will develop more. For instance, lets say that 20 percent of Koreans are addictive to games. However, if they make a school to get them escape from game addiction and learn a new job, they can work for the society. Then, due to 20% people working more for the society, the society and the nation can develop more.

 

To sum up, we can try many different ways though internet’s problem can not never perfectly solved. I believe someday, there will be less people getting mentally hurt by internet, or getting addictive to internet game.

Is it beneficial to know our future

 Today, more and more people are wanting to know their future. They mostly want to know about things such as university they could go, when will they marry and how would their life be like. However, is it really beneficial to know our future? I think knowing our future is not always beneficial for our life for these several reasons.

To start with, knowing our future can only cause anxiety. Even if the fortune tellers said a false idea, you will believe what fortune tellers said at last, and if you start to believe their predictions, you will be very afraid, scared and this will only be a obstacle in your life. For example, suppose that your fortune teller said “You will get a very bad score on college scholastic ability test.” If you hear what your fortune teller said, you will firstly try to think that the fortune teller you met was a trickster, and the thing that fortune teller said was not true. However, fortune teller’s prediction will make you frustrated and scared, and you will start to believe the fact finally. Then, due to anxiety, you will fail on the test and the thing fortune teller said can only be a obstacle in your life.

 

Furthermore, it can cause you to give up more often. Most people think that fortune telling can help us prepare the future and have more successful life. In contrast of fortune telling helping us to have successful life, it can lead you to give up more often. For example, suppose that the fortune teller said “You are not good at math. You will get less than 40 point on every test you take”. How will you act? Some people can ignore what fortune teller said and study more about math. However, most of the people will give up and do not want to challenge because they will get bad scores anyway. They will just believe in it and give up. Then, they will really get less than 40 point. This is how fortune tellers predict bad events happening to people, by making people give up certain things.

 

To sum up, knowing our future by fortune telling are not beneficial. Also, there is no evidence that fortune tellers are true. Believing our future what fortune tellers say is just ridiculous!

Lord of the flies

Imagine that you are trapped in an island with other boys and there is no way to get out and get care from the adults. How would you live, and survive with other boys? Well, you will first be very nice to each other because you were already adapted with the environment to get care, and protect others. Then, when you really need to hunt and kill animals to get meat, how would you kill it? When you first kill it, you will feel very bad to see all the bloods, but when it comes to an end, you will feel nothing about killing living things. Like this, it will be very terrible to be trapped in an island with only boys. However, this is what exactly happened in the book, " Lord of the flies".

   

 

If I briefly summarize this book, this is about a group of boys living in an island due to plane crash in a world war. At first, they were really nice to each other because they remember what society is, and how they had to act in society. However, after many moths, their living without parents became a somewhat celebration. They could do anything they want, and the rules they reminded at the first they arrived at island was all collapsed. Then, they become more like animals rather than human. They killed Simon, Piggy, and even tried to kill Ralph. The book ends with an officer coming back and being rescued.

     

While I read this book, I felt little bit scary about how young boys act. I couldn't imagine boys on the age 6~12 are killing each other, cutting heads and sharpening the stick. However, it was not really, really scary because I knew it was just a story. If it was real, I wouldn't have read this book since it was scary. The sentence, "Piggy's head opened and the stuff came out and turned red" was especially scary. I hate Jack because I think he is so selfish and like killing each other.

     In conclusion, even though the book was little scary,I liked this book because it told me how "civilization" work. Due to this book, I could know civilization better by reading a story.

Psy and it's music video, Gangnam Style

The music video, Gangnam style has been popular lately. Even now, Gangnam style is heard by different people all over the world, and it is becoming more and more famous.
Last week, Gangnam Style has won the second place in Billboard chart,  and it is becoming so famous that it is in the hompage, "Spotify".

 Due to this Gangnam style music video, Psy has been famous, of course. I coudn't believe that Korea became famous because of this one song, "Gangnam Style". Therefore, I became very curious about Psy. Today, I want to share my research to all of you guys and here it starts~ Please give an attention because this is a very interesting topic.

  Psy's real name is Jae-Sang Park, and he was born at 1977. He is a musician in YG entertainment, and his name Psy comes from the word psycho. More specifically, Psy is an abbreviation of psych, in other word, oddball. He went to Banpo elemantary school, Banpo middle school,Sae-Hwa high school, and Boston, Berkely university. His song "Champion", "Bird" is also famous in Korea like Gangnam style, and recently, he made a new song named " Right now". Here's a music video of it.

I think Psy is a really good musician! Psy makes people excited, he is really a psycho!

I hope there would be another song like Gangnam style. That would be so interesting~
